A colleague of mine is listing a really funky, cool Cambridge condo that you won’t find on MLS, because it’s a “quiet” listing. What’s that, you ask? In real estate, a “quiet listing” is one which, for one reason or another, the seller does not want advertised to the world at large. This generally means no yard signs and no posting on MLS or the Internet. It’s done for a variety of reasons — sometimes for privacy, sometimes to avoid the heavy traffic of a lot of showings, or sometimes — as in this case — because it’s currently rented, so not ready to go to full-force on the market.
What I like about this place, aside from the great mid-Cambridge location, is that it’s quintessentially Cambridge, in that quirky, old-Victorian-converted-into-condos way: it’s got great character, cool architectural details and lots of personality, while having a shared heating system with one of the other units — go figure — but it’s apparently worked out fine for current owners. Plus, you get a great private tree-top deck, in-unit laundry, and parking! If you’d like to check it out, let me know!
